If I'm not here, can you let me know where I am, and more importantly, where the toilets are?

Everybody has to be somewhere. Where that somewhere is may vary, from person to person, and across peoples, and within time, for theose peoples, and indeed between the seperate people, temporally. Or so it was said, I believe.... smiley - zen At least I can turn on my GPS to find out where I am now smiley - zen Although I don't believe a word of it smiley - ghostsmiley - zensmiley - towel flies everwyere... and not a drop to dink smiley - zensmiley - headhurts

The list you see in the old Ripley skins isn't at all accurate. It triggers when a user's homepage is visited in the Ripley skins, not when a user logs in.

The Pliny one triggers when a logged in user visits an entry or forum page, in Pliny.

I just looked at Pliny and found '0 hikers online', which surprised me, since I thought I was.

I refreshed Pliny twice and found the machine agrees I'm online after all.

On Brunel I found 273 researchers online including the editorial staff.

Pastey... While you're distracted here from writing, coding, brewing and drinking... I got a question.

In Pliny, is there any way to see one's complete conversation list? All I can see is about 35 pages back, which only brings me back to the last NaNoWriMo deluge. I've got to be able to dive back further than that if I want to see if I am The Last One to Post Here, or whether or not anyone has Won The Game.smiley - star

smiley - starWe all just lost, I need to go let the others know.

At the moment it only goes back a fixed (too small) amount I'm afraid.

I am currently looking at a new forum structure (only database wise, not how we use the site) that together with the new APIs will allow us to see all our conversations. smiley - smiley

One does occasionally see Nighthoover emerging.

I suppose the mystery is part of the allure.

You can call me TC

>>The Pliny one triggers when a logged in user visits an entry or forum page, in Pliny.<<

So if I log in in goo, browse and log out again, I am practically incognito? (If I don't get an answer to that, I'll assume it means yes)

Don't mind me.

We're all not here, unless a tree falls scilently in the forrest, whilst the pope is busy with a bear in the woods... in which case, who knows smiley - zen

The allure has always been part of the mystery to me... smiley - zensmiley - silly and, don't forget....... whatever the eyes say.... whatever the whosonline says.... nighthoover is alwyas here smiley - zen imutable imovable and unfettered by spatial and temporal changes, eternally stuck in the foreverness of the going round and round and round and getting dizzyness of the whole sort of general somethingness err... or so I was informed smiley - zen

Really, 2legs, you *had* to bring a smiley - panda into this? A truly innocent smiley - panda?

As if the pope wasn't bad enough?

But you are right, you are not here (according to "who's online") and neither am I, nor TC, nor Nighthoover

(Don't tell anyone.... But I@m hiding out in Alabaster still, half the time... though tending to use Pliny when reading more often than not....) smiley - zen

The smiley - panda that can be known, is not the true smiley - panda for the smiley - panda of the people is but the earthly representation of the eternal smiley - badger of destony; fated for all eternity to be less smiley - panda like than smiley - badger like yet more or less insoluable wtihin its own representations of its ego throghout its desimination from the id of perception and perceptability ... as my grandmother used to say smiley - zensmiley - silly

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Grandmother's theorlogy and insanaology as it pertains to the great hoovery one, is, sadly, rahter tied up with eels... as, indeed, one might expect... Obsessed.... otterly obsessed by eels, and the buckets containing therof... Some of the more high-theological utterences are, I expect, unable to be fully understood by mere mortals, or, indeed, those with even the scantest inkling of a grip on the merest thread of the slightest tiniest whisper of something almost but not totally unlike sanity smiley - zen I fear further reveleations of such, may cause such confusion as to put in jepady the very nature of our understanding and overstanding of the base concepts to which we are ever-relient in our dairy life smiley - zen
