The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Future With Douglas Adams is a new series on BBC Radio 4. Look out for it on Wednesday 25 October 11.00am BST¹, that's 10am GMT².

In the last of a landmark series, Douglas Adams presents his personal vision of the digital future. He shows how we live a world in which computers are co-evolving with us, not just as objects that sit on our desks but integrated into the fabric of society.

Having already provided a communication network unparalleled in our history, computers are set to revolutionise every aspect of our lives.

With contributions from some of the most highly respected computer scientists of our age, including the inventor of the laptop, Alan Kay, and a leading authority in artificial intelligence, Chris Langton. For contrast, we also hear the views of John Perry Barlow, 'net god' and one time lyricist for the Grateful Dead. Just the person to round off this off-beat series.
