The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Future With Douglas Adams is a new series on BBC Radio 4. Look out for it on Wednesday 11 October 11.00am BST1, that's 10am GMT2.

As Douglas Adams considers becoming an e-published author, he looks at some of the issues surrounding this fast-growing area on the Internet. He wonders what exactly is an e-book and if that means the old method of reading the printed word will be abandoned.

Douglas has some useful insights into the world of e-publishing, both for the reader and for the aspiring writer while questioning if people are willing to carry around electronic devices capable of holding hundreds of books instead of a handful of flimsy paperbacks.
