No Hitchcock picture? May I request one?

It doesn't quite work like that. Originally researchers were allowed to link to their own image files. Then for obvious reasons the BBC found they needed to have control over content. Now new graphics are only added by BBC staff and Community Artists (CAs) under the direction of the italics. These are for Edited Guide entries etc which appear on the front page (or are random test entries as a CA joins). Currently the best chance of getting a particular picture is to write a really good article on that subject and hope it gets picked as Editor's choice. However, that still doesn't give you control over what precise image is designed.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
