Althought Conservative Party supporters will be pleased to hear that Liam Fox has shrugged off his disappointment from earlier this week to score the equaliser at Livingston.

If Pires wasn't making such an arse of himself, we'd have a lot more scorer points this weekend.

Well I'm sorry that you see it that way, DD. The two situations are however entirely different.
Yes, I was 27 minutes late in posting my selection. And you'll also be aware that I consistently accept late postings from players. Even on occasion accpeting selections made after the games have kicked off.
In your case, in week 6, you asked for a Pools Panel selection in a posting made at 9:25am on the Sunday after the games had been played. The reason that I declined to give you a selection was that I felt that to do so would disadvantage those others who, for what ever reason, didn't make a selection that week. Had you been the only one not have posted, I would have in all likelihood said OK and let you have a Pools Panel pick.

27 minurtes late this week is 18 minutes before the first game kick off and you would therefore have had the last minute team news indeed the actual teams which were not posted at 12 noon.

Oh for crissake, DD. This is supposed to be a bit of fun! Like I or anyone should be playing it so seriously that they deliberately try wriggle around the deadline to get some sort of competitive advantage.
The deadline is 12noon for no other reason than it's always been 12noon, apart from when it hasn't been, which it isn't on rare occasions. It's merely a convenience, it means pretty much bugger all.

In a moderate scoring week, riotact wins with 9 points and goes up the table to second place.
SBE suffers a bit of a dip in form, and is replaced at the top of the table by Orcus, with Ormondroyd - who lets face it has got previous in this competition - lurking ominously behind in third.

Results:
Aston Villa 0-2 Wigan (HUGHES, Mahon)
Blackburn 2-0 Birmingham (DICKOV, Bellamy)
Man Utd 1-1 Tottenham (SILVESTRE, Jenas)
Arsenal 1-0 Man City (PIRES)
Falkirk 1-3 Dundee Utd (DUFFY, Glennon, Canero, Samuel)

You've made him grumpy now. He's nearly cancelled the whole competition.

I've just seen the Pires incident on MOTD. The best bit is not the penalty itself, but Danny Mills clearly calling him a 'daft twat' afterwards.
