This is absolutely beautiful.

I am, perhaps, too young to have ever lost a child, to know what that is like, but as one who has lost, and more importantly who has witnessed the losses of others that I care about, God's lent child expresses a simple truth.

The most puzzling thing is this: it doesn't matter at all whether you believe in the Christian tradition - there is no conflict here. It is just simply true.
