Having had a stressful day at work should count as a legitimate socially approved reason to take a hit off the old bong, fire up a phatty, or ingest a pill pressed from marijuana leaves and flowers.
In this drug free state at the most southeastern quadrant of this great country, you may not smoke pot, that is until the law that bans such consumption is changed. Instead, legally you and your friends may go out in an automobile and drink three martinis in three hours and then drive around with your blood alcohol levels somewhere near .08, for no one is interested in a sample of your urine if it only contains this substance. the true harm is not being caused by marijuana, but by its prohibition. How many probation violations are the result of marijuana? How many innocent kids are labelled in their early years as t-r-o-u-b-l-e because of marijuana? How many people end up in prison after violating parole? How many people will this country incarcerate to prove it's point, that marijuana is a harmful narcotic? I strongly approve of the medical use of marijuana for the terminally ill, but also for those suffering long term illnesses which result in chronic pain for which no other medication seemingly can provide releif. I also think that if depression and stress are serious enough to warant the use of psychotropic medications, pain pills commonly prescribed such as prozac and welbutrin, then marijuana should also be allowed to be a consideration for those who may find it to be of benefit. I certainly am not afraid to discuss this with my doctor, and I have, and all the doctors I ever spoke with approved of it with some considerration of my condition. It may not be for everyone, but as a non-drinker, I have very little that options short of ciggarettes and pills that are often reccommended for life. I would prefer a puff here and there, then two pills a day for thirty days just for the initial effect to be reached, and then assuming there are no side effects, continued consumption forever. Who pays for all these pills anyway? Insurance companies? No thanks. Let us smoke it. Thanks. P.S. If there is a petion in Florida for medical marijuana, please sign it, then vote, even if we have to count it twice.
