a LEGENDARY procrastinator????
This is the man who said "I love deadlines, I love the woooooossshing noise they make as they go by"
I'm sure I can dig up the quote and story from one of his Biographies, maybe Hitchhiker?
Well, I'm sure I will.
Just not right now.
Tomorrow.
Yeah, I'll do it then.
But wasn't Douglas......?

Thank goodness Christmas is over, anyway. Even without having to wonder what a dolphin could possibly need, it's still a nightmare. Or did I mishear you?

It is very possible you misheard me, I speak English with a very funny accent, sometimes referred to as "American"
Sorry for being so late getting back to this post.
I really, really need to get one of these
(I'm new here, and just found the Tardis smiley-thingy and I think it's brilliant and will probably over-use it constantly for a bit)

I just found the quote in MJ Simpson's Hitchhiker. Pretty much as I wrote it, so my memory is not as bad as I thought. I followed the footnote back, and found that it was a "widely quoted" story.
So I just avoided doing stuff for work by looking up a quote that I already knew to share it with an internet community that probably already knew it.
Not sure if that counts as "quality" procrastination or simply screwing off, but all the same, I'm sure that work stuff will get down eventually.
Still considering actually joining.
Anyone know if there is a Hitchhiker smiley thing, the little green planet-thingy with the stuck out? Is that just an American publication graphic?

"Sorry for being so late getting back to this post." I'm just hoping I misheard. Royal Procrastinators only apologise for the banality of promptness. Being American is no excuse, as non-prescription cures for this condition are readily obtainable.
Remember, bukra in Arabic means the same as maƱana in Spanish, but without the sense of urgency. This is what you must aspire to.
With a name like Ceawlin I suppose you're a Welsh Patagonian, so it's hardly surprising your accent is exotic. As for Americans, the idea that they speak English hadn't previously occurred to me, though I must admit there's probably some grain of truth in it.

Actually Ceawlin is the name of one of those most dependable of chaps: your bacic Dead Saxon King.
But wasn't Douglas......?

Due to dear Douglas being dead (and yes, doffing my cap to Saxon desire for alliteration is deliberate) it's time to gather his books together and burn them. The Elizabethan explosion of English literary talent surely owed something to the fact that there was a name to be made for yourself. Now all the prizes have gone, and we all groan under the weight of dead authors whom we must revere, which gets heavier by the year. Time to burn the lot, plough the ashes in, and grow a new crop. If we must have heroes to worship, let them be alive.
Perhaps I've used the wrong forum for this initiative.
I must away, and correct the lack of rigour in the definition of Operating Systems.
Do not panic.
