If you free up this site, it can become HUGE. It can become a worldwide thing. It can really do a lot of good! Honestly, if you allowed this site to develop into a place where people can really learn things that are important to learn, you would do a huge service to the entirety of humanity.

This site has so much potential. The forums, the userpages, the entire infrastructure, allows a degree of efficiency of communication that is quite staggering. Have you never taken a bit of time to think about it, to consider the implications? If this thing can grow, it can become unbelievable. The entire atmosphere is just so positive over here. This is the best thing on the 'net that I've seen so far, and I've been far and wide. But now some of the 'goodness' has been sacrificed. Unnecessary restraints will keep this site from growing as feely as it ought to. I now am not sure any more if this site would be able to achieve its full potential. People will now not be able to learn as much over here as they otherwise would have been.

Even despite your restrictions there has been attempts to introduce other languages - Ogham, Greek, Latin - but what about other languages, living languages? And if people are not allowed to speak freely, you are really seriously diminishing their chances of really mastering communication in another language. They will only be able to do it if they go elsewhere.

I would like it if they could do that while staying here. I would love it if, over here, I was able to learn other languages and to speak them with other people. Just think about it.

And even if the totality of the people who would want to learn and speak languages other than English here may be small, you cannot say that we are insignificant! Well, you can say it, but you would be wrong to.

Okay, I think I've spoken enough English over here for today.

You've been busy, Pillowcase!
You know I agree with all (or at least most) of what you say, but to be fair, I must say that I've only tried to reactivate one of the four pages, so the three pages where it says I haven't been back to do so is correct. The fourth was reactivated and removed one of the very first days after we came back, not very surprising. I will try to reactivate them again soon, but there are some practical problems. The pages are so big that it's difficult for me to upload them from this old computer. Argh! I want a new computer!!!

Relax, pillowcase, danish is one of the oldest languages in the world. It is still one of the 20 largest (measured by how many are able to use it). And there are still far more danish words in english than vice versa. We will survive this too.
If not we will just sail up the Ouze, reclaim York and the rest of the Danelaw

I'm not worried about the survival of Danish, but I have here a chance to learn another language, and I can't use it! I find that the more languages I learn, the more easily I learn others. Also, the more languages I learn, the better I can promote my own language, which is at the moment an endangered one!

I knew that!
(Believe me, you wouldn't learn much from these entries!
But the principle! Yes, you're right!)

I don't think Pierce knew it!
Don't be hard on yourself, Ottox! A little knowledge can go a long way. And if these entries ever reappear they might perhaps prod some of the other Danes over here into helping you with it!

Not more than just over 300. (The size problem is because of the formatting) A mix of ordinary and *not* ordinary words, most of the ordinary ones are words I used or read in my first conversations here at h2g2.
