What you tried to say to me,
How you suffered
For your sanity
You tried to set them free
They would not listen
They did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
But when no hope was left inside
On that starry starry night
You took your life
As lovers often do
But I could have told you Vincent
This world was never meant
For one as
Beautiful as you
{sigh}
Must be one of my all-time favourite songs
{wiping away a tear}

MINE TOO!!! I studied Vincent(not thoroughly enough, however) a few years ago in a humanities class!! We read Irving Stone's "Lust For Life", and my teacher, Mr. Becker, acquainted us with "Vincent", by Don McClean.
Marvellous that you have such great taste!!!!

That song makes me come out in goosebumps, it's so beautiful, sung straight from the heart, St.Bob can play it on his guitar

OOOO... blessed be Saint Bob...(So the legend is true, then!??)
Like Van Gogh, we both have our creative tendencies, and I think almost every now-brilliant person had a somewhat akward childhood of not-quite fitting in...
And "they never listened, they did not know how..." is a line I can empathize with.
Some people possess talent so LOUDLY that others are deaf to it...
I love songs that give me goosebumps...
I hate songs that are covered by people who did not originally compose them... I heard this terrible rendition of "Big Yellow Taxi(although it WAS true to the original, just NOT JONI MITCHELL!!!!)" at my job. Icky.
Key: Complain about this post
