Feed a Child with just a Click!
Created | Updated Nov 4, 2008
They offer free water, free flour and rice
No donations needed - a moment's the price
Just feed a child with a single mouse click
The press of a button - a mere finger flick!
And rescue a child from the grip of starvation
In Kenya, Uganda, some African nation
South America, China, the country's my choosing
Whichever, wherever, that I find amusing
Beside my computer, I sit and I trust
My mouse-clicks have gotten to those that they must
While I struggle to feel pity or affection;
Casual charity offers little connection
As a kind hearted act it seems almost worthless
The ease of its use is defying its purpose
It's the power involved that staggers my senses
And awakens within me Godlike pretences
You thirsty children, should you get your water,
Will you worship me? Praise me? Will you spare a thought for
The Anonymous Man in his fully plumbed house,
His power deployed at the touch of a Mouse?
Now I give the button a tentative prod
And you're fed and watered, by grace of your God.
How utterly dull - what dreary salvation
Why should I love those that are not my creation?
So eat up and drink up, but save some to hoard
For soon your new deity will become bored
And you'll be abandoned - no real reason why
For want of a mouse click I'll leave you to die.
