The phrase "16, 33, 45, 78" falls on deaf ears of the young, unless they are budding DJs. I once asked a physics teacher why those numbers are not multiples or in sequence. He said it either had to do with the "golden section" or it was a result of record or gramophone companies submitting slightly different (by a red hair or a blonde hair) speeds or formats from their competitors and letting the public decide who went in the toilet.
