Inverse Probability Drive, The

The Inverse Probability Drive (IPD) has successfully topped the Infinite Probability Drive in the category of most round-about thinking. The principle of it is that the less likely an IPD ship of running is, the better it actually does. An example of this is that if you were to install the IPD into a sleek, aerodynamic, souped up hotrod ship, it would fly like a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal who had just been injected in the jugular vein with a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. On the other hand, however, if you managed to build a large asymmetrical object out of cardboard boxes, nailed it to the ground, and somehow installed an IPD, you would be cruising at the top speed of any other ship in the galaxy easy. The complete lack of the need to buy expensive tools and materials, and the fact that the uglier it looks without the IPD the more attractive it is to everyone with it, the IPD has many advantages over any and all other systems. Because of this, the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation has bought up all the rights to it and placed such a hefty price tag onto it as to cripple transportation into its former state.
