The Golden Book

What a lovely thought.
'In the golden book of the golden game.
A golden angel wrote my name.
When the deal is down, I'll rest my crown,
Over in the old golden land.'
(Sorry, I've heard the song, but I can't remember the author.)
Personally, I'd be 'Finnegans Wake', mostly incomprehensible, full of dubious polyglot puns (Brendan Behan said, read it for the jokes), always beginning in the middle and spiralling back to the start, 'riverrun, past Eve and Adam's'.
Do dogs fit into the scheme?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
