Hi all...

Thank you so much Courtney... you did a fabulous job... ~Greebo gives Courtney a huge huggle~

On to todays question...

"If the puzzle you solved before you solved the puzzle you
solved after you solved the puzzle you solved before you
solved this one, was harder than the puzzle you solved after
you solved the puzzle you solved before you solve this one,
was the puzzle you solved before you solved this one harder than this one?"

Mr Tea

I'm pretty sure I've never solved a harder puzzle than this one is to understand, but apparently the one before was harder, so my answer is Yes.

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

No, the puzzle I solved before I solved this one was easier than this one, because I didn't have to write anything down to solve the last one. smiley - smiley

You can call me TC

As the question contains the words, "before you solved this one" it is all hypothesis because until I have untangled the sentence I haven't solved this puzzle yet, so there can't be an answer.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

I think the puzzle can be solved simply by refusing to solve this puzzle. By refusing to solve it, there is NO puzzle solved today, therefore any other puzzle would necessarily be harder, making the solution to this puzzle "yes."

/* Thinks for a moment */

Drat. A conundrum.

yes. you have to delete the bits that cancel out. for the first part you get:
"If the puzzle you solved before you solved this one, " because the puzzle after the puzzle before this one is this one. you can start from the end and work backwards like in the math logic problems i am so good at smiley - bigeyes . go back(before), go forward(after) and end up in the same place. for the last part you do the same and get: "this one," so the question is: "If the puzzle you solved before you solved this one was harder than this one, was the puzzle you solved before you solved this one harder than this one?" so the answer is yes.

Wouldn't they be the same puzzle? If so, then it can't be any harder, right?
