The use of the word "foil" in the name of this product is a reference to the fact that it is extremely difficult to handle this substance, which will usually foil any attempt to actually wrap something with it.

Aluminium Foil can only foil your (often futile) attempts to wrap something, if you are able to get a piece with the right size out of the poorly designed paper-box, in which it ships. I often experience that the foil tears apart, but not as planned along the edge, but towards the end you're pulling on, hence ruinig another piece.
Nevertheless your chances to get it off are better than with plastic wrapping.
