But then how would we get rid of the japanese?

Build the Korean economy.
Hi Ginger. I'll mix some more punch.

Will send Sabre-toothed tigers to the editors homes. That should make up for them giving your bird the short straw

Sorry to hear it got rejected but glad in one way because it means they must be getting nearer to rejecting my earlier articles. Are you going to resubmit?
Tourism, big cats and birds
John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!" Posted Jun 21, 1999
I probably won't resubmit that one, unless something fresh springs to mind. There was no helpful hint attached to this rejection (as there was with "Tails"); so I take it that the whole slant of the thing is misdirected. I should try to grind out some new stuff.
Good luck with your thing! Did you write it about the same time?

Ginger The Feisty Posted Jun 21, 1999
Not long after so here's hoping! I've written about 6 articles now but not a peep of a rejection!

Curious. Have you seen an account anywhere of how the selection process works? Not how articles are judged, just the mechanism of review. If there is an article you are especially proud of, I wonder if it would increase your chances to submit it again, with a different entry number.

That would be sneaky and maybe it would end up on another editor's desk and they might approve it!

It's your moral duty as an artist to protect your work from the vagaries of an editor with a tummy uptset. Sneaky is sometimes the price one has to pay.

Do you think I would have a problem with being sneaky? Ask Doug. He'd put you straight on that score!

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!" Posted Jun 22, 1999
I've not heard from Doug for a while. Is he off somewhere? Or are we just prowling different forums?

He hasn't been contributing a lot but then he has had a cold! I'll give him a prompt but I just think he has other things on his mind at the moment!

Don't bother him if he's ill, poor lad. Say "Hi" from me though.

My good wife just came home with dinner. So I'll wish you a good night. "Good night".

Ginger The Feisty Posted Jun 22, 1999
I will and I'm sure he will be in touch soon! Starting to get a sneaking suspicion that I might have caught his cold though!
