I'm not entirely sure. When I last went in, it was full of students and I was falling over the scruffy buggers in a vain attempt just to buy some sweeties.
However, the Somerfield in Kilner Way, Wadsley Bridge, is rather nice. It's small, and the staff are a bit unfriendly, but the complaints book is a joy to read.
Such delights as "NO PEAS. WHY?" and "WHY DON'T YOU SELL MULTI-PACKS OF LARD". All accompanied by quite funny managerial speak: "Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, on the day you came here, there was a rush on peas and we had sold out", or "Thank you for your enquiry. We have looked into multipack lard and unfortunately cannot source any at this time. May we suggest cooking oil".
And Premier Points, too. It's a miracle.
