A Conversation for Superrobots-The stupid plot device of super strong robots with AI.

The premise they're going for is that robots are stronger than humans, and strong AI is smarter... and of course a movie is always better when the hero has to fight someone who isn't a stupid weakling. So it makes sense.
Not entirely accurate to automatically assume that these creatures are evil, but it's Hollywood and expected I guess.
So what's your take on it?

Wow!
Someone replied to my stupidest article (the others aren't a lot better).
I'll tell you what's wrong...

It's just very stupid really, to assume that people would want to do that. I mean, why have somethingthat is almost-human, when you can have humans?
I think that along with amnesia, there's not a lot of substance behind it as a plot idea. You'd think someone would put in a remote-destruct or something on a robot that can see the idiocy of the human condition, and also destroy it. I just think that you would want to control power, so separate artificial intelligence and artificial force.
Man I'm weird.
Still a little confused...

"...why have something that is almost-human, when you can have humans?" I think the point is that AIs aren't 'almost-human'... they're potentially stronger, and heaps smarter, and have lots of trouble trying to work out what emotions are. So they're not like humans at all, really.
"I just think that you would want to control power, so separate artificial intelligence and artificial force." So you mean that one person who wants to start a war/take over the world/kill Sarah Parker/whatever, has two separate armies; one strong and not smart, the other smart but not strong?
I suppose that would make an interesting movie, granted.
