You see what happens. One bad pun inspires a whole flipping castle. Not a good idea at all, Kes. Pages made me think of courts. Courts made me think of kings. Kings made me think of Arthur. Arthur made me think of Camelot. Then I had five minutes to spare and... its all your fault! Finally, however, having constructed the edifice for that sole purpose, I have been able to use your pun in its proper surrounding! (See 'Great Room' in Camelot.)

*Whacks Kes with her cane.*
I'll laugh a lot if I go visit the castle. It seems to be a silly place.

Eeek! Where'd you spring from? Where are you?
Hey Pheroneous, I went to your Grand Hall and the people were rude to me because I wasn't "in character"... sheesh!

Cooeee! I'm over here now!
And here!
And here!
Yes, I saw you come and go. The answer, I am sure, is to be rude back! Something that, alas, appears not to be in your nature.
At the risk of being unneccessarily analytical, I would say also that 'silly' is a word that is often quite derogatory in UK English.
Its a curious thing that these communities within a community (e.g. camelot, BOF Inn and before that the Village etc. seem to very quickly spawn mini conversations between just two or three participants, who quickly become quite 'possessive' about 'their' room (not intentionally, I am sure), making it difficult for the less forceful to join them, as the conversation gains a life of its own. By using your [phillippa] trick, I thought it might be possible to change that a little. We shall see, it is early days yet. Ideally I wanted a room or rooms where lots of people could drop in and out of, adopting and changing the same characters, and also to enable people to be one character in one room, and another in another etc etc. One or two h2g2 veterans are getting it, and using it properly, but I can see that its not so simple for new names. There must be a trick to it somewhere. I know that if I were a ptb at h2g2 I would be concerned at the small size of the 'core' of users, however large the 'register', and wanting much more activity from visitors. Anyway, one day soon(ish) I shall spend some time down at Camelot and try to get it working as intended. Meantime, I suggest you re-visit (There is a witches cottage, I notice) and make your presence felt!

I think the "adopting a character" method is good, and should work smoothly .... maybe people aren't happy with the idea that other players can use "their" character? Don't know ... just a thought ...
...and of course, you're always welcome in this room - we're not exclusive ... I was going to say it's always nice to see you here, but I can't see you atm Har har har!
