No but you do get to go on the "roll of honour", there is a badge.
And heck you might help get some new smileys!
If that isn't enough then I dont know what is !
Come on, you know you want to
Chuckle...
FB, what about the old new smiley campaign? I thought the Eds had been categorical in their stance to not have any new smileys. Or have they changed their minds?
Chuckle...
Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master Posted Jun 3, 2005
Well they said they were not taking any new requests for smiley types, and that was back in 2003.
When I broughtv this up with Jimster he certainly didn't reject it out of hand.
Basically the more members we get the more likely they will bow to pressure dontcha think?
come on Kea you know you want to

"Well they said they were not taking any new requests for smiley types, and that was back in 2003."
was supposed to read
Well they said they were not taking any new requests for smiley types, not that there would be no more new smileys. There was in fact a huge list of suggested smileys, and that was back in 2003.
Chuckle...
aye, that is what I was referring to. That the Eds aren't open to new smiley suggestions. That's been my hesitation about joining the new campaign.

Yeah, Jimster does seem nicely receptive, althought I take his point they would have to consider the old campaigns as well.
I want a kakapo smiley, and I think there is an old thread about that somewhere....

To be honest I dont really care what the smileys are I just want some new ones...
If they collection contained or I would be even happier. But new smileys is what I want.
Perhaps TCFNS should forge closer links with the other cmapaigns!
Chuckle...
Good idea. If you reviewed the other campaigns, saw where the overlaps are with your one, and provided a synopsis it'd save the Eds some work which must be a good encouragement to them to look further.

I have submitted about 5 different threads on ask over the years. I revived one today.
My campaign is really more about us getting some new smileys, once the decision has been taken perhaps a new "suggestion" thread could be started and advertised.
At the moment it would be a bit academic dontcha think?
Chuckle...
Ah, I get it now. I guess all this talk of actual new smileys makes one think the campaign is about specifics. I think focussing on getting the Eds interested in h2 needing any new smileys is great
As for a poll, I think a thread isn't the way to do it - too much topic drift and backlog will put people off. I was thinking more an A page, with some kind of text box where people can vote for a specific new smiley (a short list would have to be compiled). Not sure if the gML is possible to do that...

yeah, I dunno really how that could be achived. For the time being though I am just trying to convince TPTB of the neccesity for a new collection this summer.
I ask the question "Most wanted smiley" out of interest really. It is quite fun seeing what people *most* want isn't it?
