"Croxley, the first station outside Zone 6 on the Metropolitan Line is the only station to contain the letter 'X'"

Only true if you pretend that Uxbridge Station doesn't exist.

It may be my mistake, being all foreign and that (attending only English at High School), but didn't the author mention something about being it the first staion with an "X" O U T S I D E the zone 6 (past border)?
All after mentioned stations "seem" to me to be withing the 1-6 zone.
So indeed, smarty pants... Either you all or me...

What about xxxxing Green Park?

Which tube station gets you the most Scrabble points? It has to be Kings Cross St Pancras, mainly because it's a pretty long name. I can't be bothered to work it out properly though, so if anyone else wants to...

Of course, no station on the Underground will give you any points at all as they are names of places (except Bank, Temple and such like which are also generic terms).

Hounslow West, which is where I come from, is an example of a place that has called itself after a tube station. Sometimes you see 'Hounslow Central' and 'Hounslow East' in Estate Agents' descriptions but Hounslow West is a de facto area now. Mind you I would not have liked to have lived from 1965 to 1981 in 'Hounslow Barracks' [which of course are still there, but was the original name].
