There may be problems with ownership of Simpsons ones. It's a commercial venture which may well be using those as trademarks in some form and might not regard the BBC site advertising it in that way as sufficient advantage over potential disadvantage. Even though the size of smileys would normally mean they fall well below the percentage of copying permitted by copyright!

Yea, I wonder about the h*ll thing, too. No idea. For me it's a word like every other. It isn't particulary a swearword, is it? I mean it can be used as one, but...
No, moving smileys get on your nerves after a while anyhow I think.
