When you are saying Go autumn, are you requiring it to actually go somewhere?

Navigatorblack of the EAN Blackheart Posted Oct 11, 2005
yes. It is going to go and take over the time allocated to the other seasons, because autumn is the best.

Ah right, I see. Ah yes that time of year when every thing seems to be changing. Green patches have begun to appear on the barks of the trees, the leaves where they've been piled, chase each other, somersaulting, turning in circles. Everything nature has decided to create seems to be in competition, fighting for the best colours. Changing from green to yellow to brown

Well, you can always put on an extra sweater, but there's a limit to what you can take off in summer! But I still prefer autumn.

I was looking out of the bed room window the other day. There is a dark red leafed tree and next to it a bright yellow leafed tree. Nature has some wonderful colours in autumn.

Do kids still do conkers? We have several oak trees down our avenue, and the conkers are just lying on the ground. I recall when I was a little boy the fierce competitions in the school playground were very exciting.

I never lived anywhere where that was traditional, I don't know!

The round brown nutty fruit of the oak is called a conker and comes in a green prickly shell. Children used to tie them onto one end of a string. You have a turn at hitting your opponents conker. They then hit yours the game goes on until one conker is smashed. Some cheats used to bake them in the oven or soak them in vinegar to harden them.
