h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi Gosho. Want to let you know that I'll be in the Austin area sometime between Sept 20 & 26. I'm going to San Antonio for a few days and then have a party in Dallas on the 27th. I think my traveling companion wants to see a couple of things in Austin. The LBJ Library and I'm not sure what else. If you're around, I'd like to buy you a drink. (Or a cup of tea if it isn't drinking time.)

I'm not sure what my plans will be around that time. I'm thinking about taking a trip to the UK after the summer season (and Fantastic Fest) ends, and before the weather gets too unpleasant over there, which kind of points to the last couple of weeks in September

Mind you, if this trip turns out the way that my previously planned trip to Galveston did, I'll be in Austin

I hope you get to go. That would be much more fun for you than meeting a pudgy grandmother for a drink.

I'm doing San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, then heading west to the Grand Canyon. Then doubling back to New Mexico to visit Asteroid Lil and a few of the group who hang out over at her salon on Oct 4th. When we leave there, if the weather is good, we'll go to Santa Fe and chaco Canyon then back home. It should be a fun trip. I haven't done a road trip for ages.

My next trip to England will be next spring for my 60th birthday. We're having a party! 'Twil be a hoot.

Well, that is a possibility. May 6th is the party date. It should be a hoot! Think . And UK hootooers. I have no clue as to any other details at this point.

May 6th would probably be towards the end of the time that I could take a holiday, and it's one of the best times to be in the UK (early June is even better) and there might be some decent cricket to see

Let me clarify that somewhat.

There are certain times that I can't take a holiday without losing entitlement to our twice-yearly profitshare bonus - summer season, Christmas season, SXSW and Fantastic Fest. If we take more than a certain number of days off during those periods, no profitshare

Summer season starts around the middle to the end of May, so I'd just get in under the wire

It would be really cool if you could go then. Seriously! And give you longer to save up for the trip. So, imminently practical!

That's what I love about this place. You can be use hillbilly spelling and grammar and some kindly pedant will come along and fix things.

Who else is likely to be there?

Not sure yet. It's pretty far off. Of the people I see in your journal, probably Kelli. And folks who hang out in Lil's atelier. Phil, Beatrice and Teuchter. Probably several others from there. Do you know any of the atelier crowd?

I won't announce it in my journal until much closer to the date and we have some of the details worked out.
