A Conversation for Aye... well... mmm

Active... well, yes it is, if a bit quiet. Just wait until the summer comes around though and cricket season starts again
I'm well thanks and so is Mrs Gosho
.
She lost her job about four months ago and we had to move into a small one-room apartment, which is pretty tight with the
s too. It's not too bad now, but as the summer approaches and it starts to get light earlier in the morning, I know that I'm going to be losing so much sleep as Dewey wakes up just before dawn every day and wants to go outside
She's trying to start a new business making and selling organic pet treats - she's got an interview this week with a woman who runs a farmers market nearby, to see if she can rent a space there.
I'm only working three days each week too, but I'm not too bothered about that (except for when the bills arrive ). It's not that I hate the job, I just can't deal with the rudeness of the customers any more
.
It might get better though - the bloke who owns the company recently bought up a chain of online cd stores, and we'll be selling online sometime in the future. When that happens I want to be the one who takes care of all the online stuff - and it has nothing to do with wanting to be here at h2g2 all day long... leastways, that's the story I'm sticking to
I'm going to go and make myself some breakfast and a cup of .
Back in a bit.

You prob'ly came back and went away again. Sorry it's taking me ages to reply.
I work in Customer Service for an American phone company, so I know exactly what you mean... Mike's not working at all, and it's driving us both nuts (bills.... rent...
)and we've been living in a single bedroom apartment to begin with!
It's such an expensive country to live in...
My dad's been on our case for ages, chanting to me we can always regret getting married and what not... I hate that, and Mike can barely stand the sight of him. He was trying to please him, but my dad's being a baby (he didn't want us to get married).
So that's our liff, I guess...

You'll have to remind me (it's been a while since we spoke properly) - are you in Israel now or back in the UK?
Hello from Elly
Yael Smith Posted Feb 16, 2003
Israel.... I'm becoming a Kraut, though, then we'll go back to the UK.

Sorry I keep missing conversations like this because there are so many entries being put into Peer Review and the Writing Workshops now, and all the new Researchers keep starting stupid new threads in Askh2g2 - 'What's your favourite colour?' 'What did you have for breakfast?' 'Even 'What time is it where you are?'
They flood my postings page

I can't unsubscribe from PR - I'm a Scout And I think I'd feel a bit lost without Askh2g2. There's a lot of crap in there, but a lot of good stuff too, and I use it myself often
I'm well thanks - a bit worried about the tropical rainfall we're getting today - see my journal for details. And you?

Ummm... Mike's abit worried about Iran and Iraq having all Britts evacuated. But seeing we live in Jerusalem, I doubt there's much chance of us getting hit by, well, anything. My mum worries about him not having a gas mask- I told her that even if we DID get missiles here, I doubt a gas mask will save him, seeing we live on the ground floor of our building...
And on Monday we're going for an interview in the ministry of Interior (Home office for you) to get him an ID card. And that is what worries ME....

With him being a Brit, and with Blair being such a lapdog to Bush, and with America being such a supporter of Israel, I wouldn't worry too much Or is there a different aspect of it which is worrying you?

I'm worried about him just recieving a visa extension, not an ID. They'll interview us SEPERATELY. As if he came to steal something...grrrrr...

Ah, I see. Mrs Gosho and I worried about our interview with the American INS, but we needn't have. I hope yours goes as well

What were you asked? Did you bring bills and photos and stuff? My mum's shocked by all this... she can't believe they're asking for that. Neither do I...

Yeah, we had to take anything which constituted '...proof of our life together'. Apartment leases, joint bank statements, photos, bills, that kind of thing. I think we got off pretty lightly with the questions - we weren't even separated. I believe it helped that our case was handled by one of the better respected immigration lawyers in Austin, although he wasn't present at the interview.

Doesn't mean we won't, either. Oh, well, it's tomorrow, no point worrying about it now.
