In my country..more likely people were snowmobiling across the lake..hit thin ice and go under..
don't know why people don't check first ..we actually have signs posted by many lakes..warnig that the ice is too thin..plus numerous report on the news about people going thru the ice.. but always someone else too stupid..who figures it won't happen to me
