Tried to use Guide ML but seem to have made a hash of it! Also broke it up as suggested and added some more info (schools, hospitals and facts about famous sons)

To get the GuideML working in this, edit the entry, and put at the start of every paragraph or isolated sentence, and at the end of every paragraph or isolated sentence.
Then click the GuideML radio button and click the Change Style button beside it. Finally click Update to update the entry and save the changes.
Once this works, you can have fun with fancy things like bold, italics, bullet-pointed lists and so on. If you want to do any of these, let me know.

I seem to have cracked it - except for the links! Don't worry, I'll have another look at the GuideML Clinic and work that one out too. I also need to find out how to get purple headings!

For your own Guide Entries, you can make the headings any colour you like, using and . But Entries which are intended for the Edited Guide have to match the guidelines for Edited ENtries, so you're not allowed play around with the heading colours.
For a link to another h2g2 Entry, you do this:
There is a town in Galway called Monivea.
For a link to a page outside of h2g2, do this:
I sing in the Culwick Choral Society every Thursday.
If the bit between the tags isn't suitable as a title for the link in the right margin, do this:
I sing with my choir every Thursday.

The problem is that you are using curly apostrophes and curly double quotes. These cause problems, so they are frowned upon. Use ordinary straight apostrophes 'such as these'. And although you can use "straight double quotes", they're not approved either. Keep to 'straight apostrophes' for everything.
