I see - have you discarded the GuideML stuff I sent you, or are you working out some other way to lay this out?

No dear, I just can't get it to work. I also had a go with Decimalisation to which someone gave me "foolproof" instructions as well. This is more than frustrating, but I don't have time to work it out at the moment, I don't think I'd better be a guru unless I can get it sussed.

First things first - select the "GuideML" radio button and press the "Change Style" command button. After about 2 seconds your article will appear as was, but with
There are called "tags" and they affect how everything between them is formatted. Tags are like parentheses in that every opening one needs a corresponding closing tag. A closing tag is the tag but with a backslash before the tag name.
Now if you press apply you'll find that all the text seems clumped together. This is because GuideML and HTML (on H2G2) ignore line breaks. To emulate a line break you need to surround each paragraph with the paragrah tag i.e.
Text for the paragraph...
..and press update again.
Once this is done, post a reply here and we'll move on to the next steps.
