Supporting your local team can certainly be a labour of love, I agree. My local team, Hull City, have put me through hell. But what if your local team was not and is not your first love. My interest in football was first sparked by accidentally watching Man UTD play Juventus in the champions league about 5 years ago. This new found interest led me to start supporting my local team. Although United will always be my no.1, I feel a certain bond with city when I stand on the terraces of Boothferry Park that just is not there when I sit at Old Trafford. I can never quite decide whether I am a traitor to one team, both or neither.
