Does your theory extend to the aversion of airline luggage to end up at the destination marked on the luggage tag, preferring other locations (possibly even Bolivia), or are luggage handlers just hopeless? Maybe odd socks and lost luggage are both looking for the same Utopia where they can frolic carelessly in the sun.
