A Conversation for Volunteer to be a Guru

I see you've already applied to become an Ace - good luck!
You might consider doing what I think I probably did - try being an Ace first for a bit and then become a Guru. You'll find that ACEing is more complicated than it seems and you might benefit from the ACEing when it comes to working as a Guru.
That said, it's completely up to you and I don't see why you shouldn't make a good Guru! Good luck, whatever you decide!

I find the jobs often overlap. For example I am a guru and not an ACE, but i still find myself welcoming new users when they have posted in a feedback forum by mistake, and I have seen a lot of ACEs answering questions about the site asked by new users. The way i see it is people in each job go around looking to help in different ways but end up doing the same thing anyway.

Ok, time to go of topic completely! Right, plans for an online twister...
Er... nope, i'll have to give that more thought... it's hard considering it's a very physical game, without VR (ah! now *there*'s an idea, VR h2g2! ) it will be hard to replicate.
I'm just being silly now aren't I? Nevermind. At least we're still in familiar teritory.

Whoami?
Hi

I'm sure i've already suggested VR h2g2, i even tried to make it once! Now that's saying something. I was looking into the possibility of parsing the XML into "3DML" which would make h2g2 similar to a quake like game. If/When Jim releases the XML, i might have another, more serious, attempt.

I am an expert at getting confused, so i have become an expert at confusing others as well, and i am very proud of that accomplishment.
