Same salmon here. Wont let me sign in for some obscure reason. Sorry about that.
I've read HHG2G books since I knew how to read. Douglas Adams is, in my opinion, the greatest literary mind ever to grace the planet. It would be an honor to be a Guru on a site founded by this astounding man. I would like to work in the sections: How do I?, Ask h2g2, and Don't Panic. Thank you.

Hi salmon_of_doubt,
There's going to be a slight delay before I add more Gurus. In the meantime, join in as many of the popular conversations, talk to the existing Gurus get a feel for the role? Okay? It's also a good idea to update your Personal Space so that other Researchers can come and talk to you there.
Thanks for volunteering

I, too, am quite interested in becoming a guru... so I'll hang around and hope that the graceful h2g2 staff will consider me

Hi again salmon_of_doubt,
We've decided to give you a little longer to show what a pleasant and helpful member of the Community you are.
If you want to apply again in a month or so, feel free.
