I am EXTREMELY allergic to tigers

I learned that the hard way.
A roommate of mine worked with a group that takes care of captive wild cats who have been used in circuses or zoos or the media that don't have homes. We went out to meet all of them and play with the babies. While we were playing with the baby tigers (the ears are the best part) I put my hands near my eyes.
Now, you'd think I would be smart enough to figure, small cat, small allergy, large cat, large allergy, but I mean, who thinks you could be allergic to a TIGER? That's like being allergic to a shark. What possible use could that have in nature? I mean, in the wild, by the time you find out that you're allergic to tigers, you're allready lunch and it doesn't matter anymore.
Anyhow, I wound up in the hospital getting pumped with benadryl and trying to keep my eyes from popping out of my head. Eewwwwww...
The babies were the cutest things I've ever seen though, and I did get to see one of the older adolescents stalk something. I would hate to be on the other end of that kitty.

Oh no! I am so sorry that you had such a horrible reaction! I suppose that it does make a certain amount of sense, but that dosn't mean that it was any more pleasant!
You are right though. Baby tigers are the cutest things in the world.
