Definately see HMS Warrior - I wrote an article about it here: A538030 I'm working on one about the Mary Rose at the moment. I wish I could have gone to the Festival of the Sea, but I just didn't have the money. Most of the time I don't have a spare 20p, so £20 is just out of the question. It's a shame as I wanted to be able to go. Oh well, they should have another in a few years...

I don't know - large towns still have a novelty value for me - they have escalators and lifts! Fun!

I've been in Portsmouth twice in the last week - once to go to the dog races as part of work; my view was that it was very cold, and essentially a circular sandpit with a few park benches. Are there any nice takeaways in Pompey, as I haven't found any yet...

Sandown, Isle of Wight.
I remember well the tourist attraction which was BHS when it opened in Newport in 1993 - the Island's first public escalator! It went up!

People queued for half an hour and more for the priveledge of walking into BHS, travelling up the escalator, going down the stairs and out the shop. No-one actually bought anything, but we all went on the escalator. smiley - smiley
