Btw... there will be a Dutch meet in September with some of the Towers popping over! That could be a good time for you to test the waters in the North Sea

When? I'll probably have started the new job though.
It's my last day in the old one tomorrow (Friday). You will know exactly how this feels. A new life ahead does not mean that I won't miss the old one.

I know exactly what you mean Coely! There will be tears before bedtime I'm sure... but have a few beers on me and think of your new life as an adventure! I have a feeling that you will love it!
I believe that we are going for the end of September, so it could be difficult for you unless you just pop over for the weekend. The other offer still holds true though

More than a few tears shed since about Tuesday. It's the cards that set me off. Also ex students who have heard (I don't know how) and are coming in to see me after several years. I know how well you understand. This evening it has been a small departmental goodbye, tomorrow is the big one, but there are others moving on too.
If I can't be at the meet in person (and I doubt it) I'll be with you in spirit.
I'll seriously consider anything else, but not until I've mopped up and recovered. I'll email. Thanks.
