The URL's for referenced sites don't wrap in the right margin with the result that the main page width gets seriously reduced.

True... but our preferred solution is for people to use things like this:

We recommend you visit the very long domain name site.

It's the text between the LINK tags that's displayed in the right-hand box, not the URL, and it's much more human-friendly to put the LINK text in English, not gobbledegook - in the above example it would disply 'very long domain name' in the box.

Still, it's a good point, and one that I'll mention to the tech team to look at fixing in a future release, so thanks for letting us know, BB.

I just noticed that your entry is a text one, so my solution above doesn't help much... unless you want to convert to GuideML.

I should point out that the entry I used as a example isn't one of mine.

I've seen several like it around the site and it sticks out like a sore thumb when I come accross it.
