problems for mac users in brunel?

Amy and I have both noticed that in brunel any links are invisible until one moves the pointer over them and then they become yellow. There is a solid grey line at the start of each invisible link.

Amy is also having problems seeing the smileys but they are visible to me.
We're both using Mac OS9.2 and IE5
I've used brunel in the past (although not for awhile) and I've never had it do this before.
I've had a look in Opera 5 and the links are visible and in yellow. They're hard to read though (on the white background). I can't remember if that is how they usually are.

Just to clarify - the links on a black background are fine, it's just the links on a white background.

The smiley problem could have just been connection speed, since it was entirely random as far as which smileys were broken (and indeed changed when I'd reenter a thread). I'm on a PC atm, but we'll be taking the Mac tonight to a wireless hotpoint, and I'll report back then.

Didn't end up using the Mac at the hotpoint... but I've now got OS X 10.3.9 (thanks to a friend that upgraded) and Brunel works fine in Firefox and Safari, but IE is still messed up (though it doesn't bother me anymore, since I don't use iE if I've any choice) The version of IE for Mac I have now is 5.2.

The "new"est version of IE is 5.2.3 from June 2003. If that's not the one you have, you should update - and then throw it away!
