Babel Fish is not explained now!
_vulcan Started conversation Apr 4, 2001
The Alta Vista translation tool has a link to the old h2g2 site as:
http://www.h2g2.com/A172685
which is rendered into
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A172685
on the new site.
But there is no such article now. I have searched the new site for any mention of "babel" and "fish" and while some people do refer to it in passing the definition article is gone.
Would it be possible to restore the article?

We can't have commercial links now that we're the BBC, so the Babel Fish link should be being removed by AltaVista. We've asked them to, and they've said they'll do it, anyway.
The entry you refer to was made up of:
A long quote from the HHGTTG (which we would need clearance to publish, and don't yet have it)
Exactly the same sort of content as at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A317477
So it's not really an entry on the Babel Fish, and isn't worth resurrecting, really.
