Having scanned the Post every two weeks for the past fews years, I am enjoying getting my fix of decent movie reviews again.

Unfortunately by the time the Post returns I will once more be in alien territory where the movies may not be English, so I don't know when the next installment will be. I was looking forward to reviewing the new X-files and Mummy movies too. Oh well.

I presume that means that you are still hanging out in the Land of the Rising Sun.

When I was in Tokyo a couple of trips ago, the local cinema had Gone with the Wind showing (dubbed - not with subtitles). I was strongly tempted to go just to see a reverse dubbing: the lips stop moving but the talk just keeps coming.

I don't know how "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" comes out in Japanese. The scene could be unintentionally very funny.

Ah, Japan is but a distant and fond memory, especially movie-wise. I spent the first six months of the year in Italy where it's all dubbed - only went to see Iron Man and AVP2. In a few weeks I'm off to central Asia where most things are dubbed into Russian. Hey ho...
