It(gravity) is also the force which ties us to this earth.To escape,we are told, by those wise scientists, we need to reach a velocity of 17,400 miles per hour, sorry, 28,000 kilometers. Why?
Cant we just keep going up and up and up, and up, but slowly,until we are free of the earth, becoming "weightless".
