I'm sure I would hear the same question in every country. Can you state for certain that Britain has never broken any rules? I find that a bit hard to believe.

No ofcourse ~ i was just answering the previous point ~ i meant to say that if under some circumstances governments of other countries had broken this particular rule why couldn't we do the same in this instance

Rover should not be baled out, EU rules notwithstanding. The Phoenix consortium took a huge amount of money from the company despite the fact it was loss making and somehow managed to isolate the profit-making parts from the loss making part. The Rover employees will get statutory redundancy pay, that's all: about £4K for someone who has worked there 15 years. Why should any Government step in when the directors should be the first with their hands in their pockets?

So far this conversation has covered trust, immigration, and Longbridge, so the answer is no, not a single topic election.

This is the first time I have seen campaigning on this issue, and it's a very important one. Why has it taken so long for this to surface?

Do you mean the issue of MRSA or the issue of politicians telling lies? Cos I thought they'd both been active issues for sometime.
And politicians are not exactly known for their honesty. Which takes us back to 'the trust thing.'

Pensions for me has been one of the major issues from the start - as I said to B somewhere, I think I'm going to have to work an extra 5 years to re-gain what I've lost.
Key: Complain about this post
