As I've never had to stay overnight in London (except for a work thing) I have no idea how would be best to go about booking accommodation... are there any sites/places that people can recommend?

A lot of researchers stay at a place called the Europa and that seems quite reasonable

No idea, is anybody going there this time ? It's a very nice place, friendly staff, good breakfast, but a good way off the underground and not easy to find

ahh might not be best suited less theres other people using it; my plan is to book a room in a place that others are goign to so I can tag along at the end of the evenign with them, and go along to the hotel and check in

That would be wise in any case I think. I'll stay in sort of youth hostel not far from Hyde Park - where exactly is the pub ?

near St pauls I think ,erm> yes, it is near St pauls 
ludgate hill I belive.... the address is i think on the meet page... it w should b eanyhow

I've stayed in the hostel at St Paul's and it's very nice
They do a good breakfast too, which is included in the price

No longer need accommodation... due to lack of finance we're going to be leaving early to get the last train back on Saturday.
