A Conversation for Alan Turing

Although Turing is generally credited with most of the work to develop the Bombe and the cryptanaysis of the Enigma. Much work was done by Polish intelligence/mathematians in discovering how the enigma machine worked and how the codes could be cracked. They developed a machine which Turing then used as the basis for his bombe.
Genius he might have been but he didn't do it all himself.
(Trying not to detract from a good article though)
A few other comments,
There is a Blue Plaque at the Colonade Hotel, London, his birthplace and another at his parents home.
A memorial fund is being collected to place a lifesize bronze statue of Turing in Manchester (see http://www.btinternet.com/~glynhughes/turing.htm )
There is also the Loebner prize which the contestants have to pass the turing test to win the grand prize ($100,000 and a gold medal). A prize is given to the best entry each year (see http://www.loebner.net/Prizef/loebner-prize.html )

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
