Morena Baccarin and Summer Glau talking about Serenity, X-Men 3, Wonder Woman and more (barely any spoilerage, fortunately):

Synchronisation remains a problem for the site, however. Oh well, I'm quite happy just to look at Morena's smile. smiley - blush

Only a couple of months to go before Serenity hits the big screen.
The anticipation, the anticipation...

Oh, and I forgot to mention this:

For those people who (like me) don't yet have any or few Buffy DVDs, or (unlike me) have bucketloads of money to spend...

Actually, that's about $5 per disc, and with the dollar-euro exchange rate being what it is... Hmmmm, maybe I should get me a DVD player...

Hmm, well, am yet to get s.6 or s.7 of BtVS, bit still, nearly there. And have just started watching Firefly, only a couple of episodes so far, but seems great.

Only posted this to keep you up to date, because of course, I know you are all hanging on the news of what TV shows I watch and likesmiley - smiley.

Bye for now.

Today I finally went on to broadband and watched Summer Glau and Morena Baccarin on line. Good call, Nite Owl! I have a nasty suspicion that we are not going to get Serenity on screen in our little backwater. Our Cinema is only 100 seats and tends to show the big name films on an endless cycle for the tourists.

I was right about our local cinema. They went from Pride and Prejudice straight to Wallace and Grommit with out passing any good films on the way.

And yet more news about SMG. One thing's for sure, she's in demand!

Slightly weird to see her as a brunette. (I know that's her natural color; I just had never seen her with brown hair.)

Is this where we can post random bits and pieces (well, "teasers and snippets") rather than starting a new thread each time?

Not much has been happening at Slayerville recently, which is a shame, so I thought I'd just mention that the SMGfan.com website celebrated its tenth anniversary today (meaning that it actually pre-dates 'Buffy'!) and they got a nice message of congratulations from SMG. Here's the link (you just need to scroll down the page a little bit):

http://www.smgfan.com/news.htm

On the subject of messages, Joss Whedon often posts at WHEDONesque. For anyone who is interested to know what he's had to say recently there is link to his messages at the righthand side of the home page (Tag: joss+post)

http://whedonesque.com/

The final link here is to the site for 'The Air I Breathe', the film SMG is making in Mexico City at the moment (alongside Kevin Bacon, Brendon Fraser, Forest Whitaker, Andy Garcia and Julie Delpy - good cast!) You'll find the blogs of the director and co-writer. If you're interested in such things it's worth taking a look at the blog of Bob DeRosa. He has some nice stuff to say about Gellar.

http://www.theairibreathemovie.com/

The official website for 'The Return', the supernatural thriller directed by Asif Kapadia, will be up and running soon. I'll do a link once it goes live. The film is due to be released into American cinemas in September, a week prior to 'Southland Tales'.

Thanks ever so for those links, Larry. I particularly enjoyed reading the blog of Bob DeRosa. I'd heard a bit about Southland Tales, but wasn't quite so clued up on TAIB, so it was nice to get some more info about this. Sounds like SMG is continuing to do good work, so all power to her.

Twas really nice also to read that letter from SMG thanking her fans -she sounds really sweet. This might sound a tad naive (without the dots) but that's not her real writing, is it?

No - the format of the message as it appears on the smgfan site was created by Joan (aka "The Hostess"), who runs the site with her husband Glenn, from the original message sent to her by SMG from Mexico City (presumably) via email. The wording remains unchanged. I thought the message was a nice gesture. Gellar has sent at least two other messages to that particular site in the past - I guess because of the way it is run (no paparazzi pictures, no speculation about her private life, etc.)

Just gotta say as well that I'm enjoying browsing the Whedonesque site, thanks to your heads-up the other day. It's exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for in that I like to see what old Buffy/Angel cast members are up to, and the fact that Joss himself posts now and again is a wonderful bonus! (Honestly, even in internet posts you can see his literary excellence.......)

Taking a while to sift through all of the archives, but it seems to be worth it.
