I was flowing through my life

   Running easy

      Going my own way

         As it pleased me


         I was thundering round bends

      Wearing away walls

   Squeezing through gaps

Cascading over falls


When obstacles barred my way

   I flowed round them

      When troubles flooded in

         I absorbed them


         But that was long ago

      In my spring time

   Sparkling through hills

In sun shine


Now I’ve reached the delta

   And shifting sands

      My identity is lost

         In tidal strands
