The big bang

1 Conversation

I do not doubt that the Universe began with a big bang, but what bothers me is how it will end, eh?
I have recently been listening to theories on T.V and in books which have tried to convince me of their ideas, but never quite succeeding. However the most popular ones are:

1. The universe is expanding and after a certain time it is going to stop accerating outwards and start decelarating, (It will still be expanding but not as fast as before. This seems stupid to me too.) Then it will stop expanding and collapse into a big crunch.

2. The universe will expand forever, meaning if the human race is still around then it will take us ages even at Warp 9.99 (whatever) to get from galaxy to galaxy.

I for one would not like to live forever under either of these conditions!
So basicly I don't like either theory, please someone think up another!
