*laughs* I think if I'd started when younger I wouldn't have been interested since I was a bit of a tomboy.

Please don't feel daunted by what follows. I'm sure Emmily will testify that I only pick over entries in PR that I really, really like! Mostly these are just places where a little alteration to the punctuation makes your meaning clearer
In the same way that painting has many schools: cubism, impressionist, realist etc; ballet has many 'methods', including, RAD1, ISTD2, Cecchetti3 etc. > In the same way that painting has many schools (for example cubism, impressionist, realist), ballet has many 'methods', including RAD1, ISTD2, Cecchetti3.
The dancers legs should always be turned out > dancer's (unless you're talking about more than one of them, in which case "dancers'" )
The foot should then be pointing outwards of its own accord, though it is easy to force them further outwards by turning the ankle, this is highly frowned upon as it can cause problems and injuries. > The foot should then be pointing outwards of its own accord. just standing on the balls of the foot > ball of the foot
They can however also be on demi-pointe or half toe which would be just standing on the balls of the foot with the heel raised as high as possible or en pointe which is right on the end of the toes which should only be attempted when wearing the special reinforced pointe shoes (which only girls have to endure the pain of). > They can however also be on demi-pointe or half toe, which would be just standing on the ball of the foot with the heel raised as high as possible, or en pointe which is right on the end of the toes. This should only be attempted when wearing special reinforced pointe shoes [not sure about the next bit, definitely a valid point: how about, 'a pain reserved for female ballet dancers only' ?]
shoulder width > shoulder-width
The choice of arms relates to which foot is in front, whether it is the same arm as front foot that is in fifth position or if it is the opposite arm, depends on the choreography. > I'm a bit muddled by this,
Another description is to say the front leg is further away from the audience. > does this mean the dancer has her back to the audience?
Most of my next posts will probably be brow-beating apologies for being so critical, but this is a good entry, and deserves the attention

I do appriciate help with my grammer and shall reserve any rants about they way the english school system teaches its own language.
Most of your points Mol I accept but here are the ones I have comments about:
"just standing on the balls of the foot > ball of the foot"
Yes a muddlement of multiples, possibly "balls of the feet"
"The choice of arms relates to which foot is in front, whether it is the same arm as front foot that is in fifth position or if it is the opposite arm, depends on the choreography. > I'm a bit muddled by this"
I'm not surprised its it a most muddling thing, esp. when you are trying to dance it! Bascially in a dance, you can be doing the front foot rule (the same arm as front foot is in that position) or you can be doing opposition (in which case the opposite arm to front foot is used). I'll try and re write this bit to make more sense.
"Another description is to say the front leg is further away from the audience. > does this mean the dancer has her back to the audience?"
This description was used for me and I realise it probably makes more sense when someone is demonstrating in front of you. I guess if I think about it, if it is in efface like this is describing, the thigh of the front leg is facing away from the audience, but this isn't a very elegant description.
I was being norty and writing this at work since I was majorly bored and had nothing to do but things have changed and I can't easily use h2g2 at work now (my desk has been moved and now they can see my screen) and so it might take me a little longer to get these tidy up bits done.

There's probably room for a thread somewhere, devoted entirely to the subject of how English is[n't] taught in schools ...

I've tried to tidy up the confusing passages, have a read and see what you think, it isn't easy as ballet can be most confusing at the best of times.

That's fine if you've not got as much time MrsCloud, as and when you can.
Sorry, but under "Écarté" you have a link to an unedited page. Links to unedited pages are not allowed in Entries intended for the Edited Guide. Maybe you can explain in this Entry how the arms are held.
Other than that, I think it's looking pretty good.

Regarding:
This should only be attempted when wearing the special reinforced pointe shoes, a pain reserved for female dancers.
There is a notable (more aptly, notorious) all-male ballet company, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. All female parts are performed en pointe. You may want to include a footnote to that effect.
http://www.trockadero.org/
I've seen them perform, my sides ached from .

Just a suggestion
If you're going to mention male ballet dancers, maybe you could briefly mention the film 'Billy Elliott' and maybe a link to a page on the film, so the males don't feel quite so left out.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
