puneites for that is what we are called believe that pune is the oxford of the east .
pune has a large student community because of its reputed university and many world class colleges .
we also have a lot of bridges under which a large quantity of drainage flows in the name of being rivers .
there are around 3 million puneites . all of them have only the haziest notins as to what rules and regulations mean . not as regards criminal laws but insofar as civic regulations are concerned the general belief is that they are a work of a fevered imagination and have nothing to do with real life .
pune can be easily found on any map by simply loking for bombay or mumbai as it is now known and then looking slightly east of that .
people outside india come here because of the osho commune with all its sex and drugs associations . i dont know much bout that though .
