This column, not the restaurant (which I'm glad I've never been to). I thought I could do righteous anger at poor food, but you've beaten me hands-down!

Great review, and I agree with every comment . We went several years ago - I'm from Edinburgh originally so I thought I'd be nice to take the wife out somewhere special while we were up there once. Service was rubbish; I've had better food in bistros at a quarter of the price and we were also left waiting ages to pay. The wine list was massive but also stupidly overpriced.

I like good restaurants and don't mind paying over the odds for something special, but this place most certainly not worth it. You are absolutely right - all hype and no substance.
